Organising Palestinian-Jewish co-resistance on Israeli campuses
An update from Standing Together about the growth of the movement's student chapters.
Standing Together’s students are the most powerful political force on Israeli campuses today, with 14 chapters that have led the fight against the war in Gaza and for the return of the hostages on campuses and stood up for students’ freedom of expression. Their work is incredibly important to our struggle – not only is college where many Palestinians and Jews meet for the first time, it’s also where many become political actors.

Banner reads: Students at Bezalel [Academy of Arts and Design] refuse war.
Last week, nine of our students at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem were elected to the student union, where they have increased influence on a range of campus issues. We’re so proud of our students who show up every day to make a real difference in the lives of Jews and Palestinians on campus. As we approach the end of the year, we want to ask for your support to ensure that their critical activities can continue changing reality into 2026.

We currently have 36 student union representatives on campuses across the country, with chairperson positions at a campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. This is what we mean when we talk about building power to change our reality. We cannot only protest in the streets and condemn reality, we must build a robust infrastructure of people who are organized and mobilized in this fight.

Our chapters provide a political home for Jewish and Palestinian students to fight together for a different future – one of peace, security and independence for Israelis and Palestinians, full equality for everyone in this land, and true social, economic, and environmental justice. Our chapters recruit new students through protest actions, chapter meetings, and activities such as language exchanges and film screenings.

Help us ensure that our student chapters can recruit even more students and be stronger in the fight for equality on campus by contributing to our end-of-year campaign. Your help is truly meaningful in the lives of our students and our efforts to change reality on the ground.
