"In moments like this, we get to work building the alternative"
Standing Together writes to supporters.
As those celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, prepare to enter a period of introspection and preparation for the year ahead, we’re working toward bringing everyone in our society into the fight for our future on this land. Guiding new leaders and activists to join this struggle is key. We just finished our Palestinian student seminar, where nine Palestinian students participated in a week of intensive workshops, discussions, lectures, and activities about how to become leaders and create positive change on college and university campuses!
This seminar, which is taught in Arabic, is designed to equip Palestinian students with the specific tools they need to get involved in this shared struggle, to strengthen their political activism, and become effective activists and leaders in the fight for freedom and safety for everyone on this land.

The year ahead is critical, and we’re building power on the ground to finally end the nightmare we’ve been living in. On Saturday, hundreds of Palestinians and Jews showed up for a silent vigil in Jaffa, where we stood with images of Palestinian children who have been killed in this war of annihilation. When all of us strike, disturb routine, and demonstrate together, we’re building grassroots power that can actually change our reality.

We just started an English podcast, and we can't wait for you to listen! Follow @thelonganswer_ on Instagram and subscribe to the podcast wherever you stream podcasts – that way you’ll get the first episode directly to your feed.

Sally Abed and Jess Bricker take a deep dive into the hardest questions around Israel-Palestine. Sally is a Palestinian citizen of Israel, Jess is a Jewish citizen of Israel, and the two of us are determined to fundamentally change the reality in Israel-Palestine. If we want our joint struggle for justice, peace and equality for all to succeed, we’re going to need to talk about a lot of things. Join us.
And for those who celebrate Rosh Hashanah, may this new year bring us renewed energy to strengthen our fight, solidarity, and commitment to build another reality in Israel-Palestine.
